
School is cancelled, the library is closed, and museums are closed, how do we keep our children entertained for two weeks or more! Let’s not panic just yet. Let me help you plan your new normal.
Children thrive and feel more secure when they have schedules, so make a schedule and stick to it. Here’s a sample schedule to help you plan the day. Additionally, I have included links to help you get started on some of these activities.
8:00 am Everyone wakes up, brushes their teeth, makes beds, gets dressed
8:30 am Breakfast
8:45 am Clean up breakfast
9:00 am Parent read aloud
9:15 am Write or draw
10:00 am Take a walk in your neighborhood
10:30 am Snack
11:00 am Math (online or worksheets)
12:00 Lunch
12:30 pm Clean up lunch
1:00 pm Quiet time (kids can play or read in their rooms alone)
2:30 pm Board Game
3:00 pm Snack
5:00 pm Prep Dinner / Kids can play
6:00 pm Dinner
6:30 pm Chores
7:00 pm Family Movie
8:30 pm Prepare for bed (showers, brush teeth, etc)
9:00 pm Read aloud or audiobook
9:30 pm Everyone in bed
